Big Data are associated with the 3 “V”s : volume, velocity and variety. These concepts seem radically opposed to the privacy principles: minimization, proportionality and purposefulness. Herman Croux gave a presentation at the Business Meets IT event on 12 May 2016 on the impact of the present and future Data Protection rules. How to reconcile “Dark Data” with the requirement of minimal retention requirement? When do “Raw Data” become personal data? Many answers lie in the key privacy principle of transparency. Again, thank you for speaking at the Business Meets IT seminar about Big Data & BI.
