Karlien has amassed significant expertise in representing and providing counsel to clients across a wide spectrum of employment law matters. Her primary areas of focus include:

  • Advising both employers and employees on the termination of employment
  • Handling cases related to employees’ incapacity for work
  • Dealing with discussions related to the protected status of (candidate) employee representatives in the works council and the committee for prevention and protection at work as well as to other grounds of protection against dismissal

In addition to these core areas, Karlien’s practice extends to encompass matters related to social security law.

Her true passion lies in the realm of litigation and procedural work, where she can leverage her persuasive skills to the fullest extent. Consequently, Karlien frequently appears before Belgian labour courts, addressing all facets of both individual and collective employment law.

Karlien earned her law degree from KU Leuven in 2007 and subsequently obtained a master’s degree in employment law from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2008.
